Background

Formed in April 2004, Scar Symmetry came together during the band Altered Aeon\'s recording session at Jonas Kjellgren\'s Black Lounge Studios.Patrick Rennick. In July 2005, the band entered Black Lounge Studios to begin laying down the tracks for the debut album, Symmetric in Design. Holographic Universe

Following the Live Consternation tour with Katatonia, Insomnium and Swallow the Sun, the band has returned home to begin working on their third album. Entitled Holographic Universe, the band has already written thirteen songs, and aims to have at least sixteen written before entering the studio to record on December 1st. Lead vocalist Christian Älvestam also appeared on the album Out of the Dark, the second album by the Nuclear Blast All-Stars to commemorate 20 years of existence for Nuclear Blast Records. Älvestam appeared on the track "The Overshadowing".
